I'm passionate about Victory Fire being readable. I've noticed the comic attracts quite a few readers who have English as a second language--perhaps I'm a little arrogant to hope that the appeal to those readers is at least partly due to the clarity of the artwork. It's a primary goal for me to make each page, each action, readable on its own. I rarely use sound effects, and never motion-lines, so if you took away the dialogue as well, all that's left to convey the message is the drawing.
